In the name of God Amen. I Nancy N. Gallatin, being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this Mortal life, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following. Item First, I desire to be buried in the family lot in Hill Grove Cemetery with just a respectable grave stone to mark my resting place, and that my funeral expenses and all other debts if any exist to be paid immediately. Item second, I give and bequeath to Christian purposes as follows, One hundred dollars to the general Mission fund of the Christian Church. One hundred and fifty dollars to the Western Penna Mission of the Christian Church. One hundred dollars to the Christian Church Mission for the evangelization of the Negro and fifty dollars to the Christian church extension fund. Item Third, I give and bequeath to my nieces Sally Springer Allen and Cora May Baker each the sum of five hundred dollars. To my nieces Maggie N. Hardin, Bessie N. Swift and my nephew Jacob Newcomer the two lots I have in Napa City, California. Item Fourth: I give and bequeath to my sister Lydia N. McIntyre her heirs or assigns the sum of twelve hundred dollars. Fifth, I give and bequeath to my sister, Ella N. Stahl her heirs or assigns, the sum of five hundred dollars. Sixth, I give and bequeath to my brother Albert Newcomer his heirs or assigns the sum of twelve hundred dollars also to his daughters Mary and Nannie G. Newcomer each the sum of one hundred dollars. Item Seventh I give and bequeath to my brother B. F. Newcomer his heirs or assigns the note I hold against him of four hundred dollars, and an additional sum of one thousand dollars. Item Eight, I give and bequeath to my brother J. C. Newcomer in trust the sum of fourteen hundred dollars. Said amount to beheld in trust by my brother G. W. Newcomer until such time as the aforesaid G. W. Newcomer can see an opportunity to invest the same in a home to be deeded to him for his use his lifetime and then to go to his children. Item Ninth: I give and bequeath to my brother Stewart Newcomer his heirs or assigns, a promisory note I hold against him of Twelve hundred and seventy five dollars. Also the sum of five hundred dollars that he collected and used of money that he collected for me since I left California. I further bequeath and give to him his heirs or assigns an additional sum of one thousand dollars. Item Tenth, I give and bequeath to my brother Clark Newcomer his heirs or assigns the sum of three hundred dollars. Item Eleventh the residue of my estate I give and bequeath to my brothers and sisters, their heirs or assigns equally or share and share alike. Excepting my brother Clark Newcomer whose residue shall go to his daughter Cora May Baker and that my brother Stewart Newcomer shall not receive any of the residue as I think I have given him more than the rest already. The residue that may accrue to my brother J.C.Newcomer shall be subject to the qualifications in Item Eighth wherein his trustee G. W. Newcomer shall control and invest the same as above described. Item Twelfth: Any of my legatees that may attempt to break this my last will and testament shall be deprived of their respective share.
I further desire that my executor
shall have two years to dispose of my property and settle up my
Estate sooner if possible, hereby granting to my executor power to
sell and make deeds for all my real estate. I hereby appoint my
brother, Dr. G. W. Newcomer Executor of this my last will and
testament. hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me.

Fayette County (Seal) Be it remembered that on the 15th day of
February A.D. 1898 before me Frank H. Rosboro, Register for the
Probate of Wills and Granting Letters of Administration in and for
said County came E. G. Hall and Robt. Norris subscribing witnesses to
the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last will
and testament of Nancy N. Gallatin, deceased, who being duly sworn,
according to law, did each depose and say that they were personally
present and saw the same Nancy N. Gallatin sign and seal the
foregoing instrument of writing and heard her declare the same to be
her last will and testament when of sound and disposing mind and
memory to the best of their belief. That they signed their names as
witnesses thereto by request of the said testator in her presence and
in the presence of each other. That they know of no undue influence
being used in making said will or any later will made.
